Feels like every part of Brooklyn is gradually turning into a bland hangout zone for the wealthy. This bakery would make more sense in Boerum Hill, I guess, but it really looks like it belongs in Connecticut, or maybe the Hamptons.

or the West Village 🥴 just does not seem aligned with the neighborhood vibe, but mostly I really hope it doesn’t bring hordes of tiktokkers with it

I leaned recently that the decorative - specifically heart-shaped - ironwork in front of all of our Brooklyn brownstones (the one that Sammy based her logo on) originally comes from enslaved African blacksmiths who created the designs we know today. It’s the Adinkra symbol called Sankofa.
